Calculators aren't provided in the test center, and you cannot share a calculator.

Quick Facts

  • Only the calculators on this page can be used in the Math Test-Calculator part of the test.
  • You should not use a calculator when you are working on portions of the Reading, Writing and Language and Math Tests--No Calculator sections, and you must put away the calculator away during these sections in the tests.
  • You'll be kicked out and your score canceled should you utilize your calculator to share information during the test, or to take test questions or their answers from the testing room.

Calculator Smarts

  • Bring your own calculator. You shouldn't share one.
  • Don't bring a brand new calculator. Bring one you know. Study for the test by using the same calculator you'll use on the day of your test.
  • It's important to note that the Math Test includes some questions that require you to utilize a calculator, even though you're permitted to.
  • It can be beneficial to complete some scratch work in the exam book. You can write down your thoughts applying your calculator.
  • Make sure that your calculator is in functioning order and that the batteries are not expired. The test facility will not supply extra calculators or batteries. If your calculator is damaged during the test and you do not have a backup the test will be completed the test without it.

Calculators are permitted only for the Subject Tests in Mathematics. Check out the guidelines and rules.

Acceptable Calculators

If you own one of these calculator with characters one inch or larger or if the calculator features a display that is raised that may be visible other test-takers, you will be seated according to the preference of the test coordinator.

Only battery-operated, handheld equipment can be used for testing. It is not permissible to use power cords.

Calculators permitted during testing include:

  • The majority of are graphing calculators (see chart)
  • All Scientific Calculators
  • All four-function calculators (not advised)

Unacceptable Calculators

You cannot make use of the following items as a calculator:

  • Laptops and other computers, mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, or wearable technology
  • Models that connect to the Internet are equipped with wireless, Bluetooth mobile, video recording and playing, camera, or other features similar to smartphones.
  • Models that feature a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad pen input, pen input, or stylus
  • Models that have electrical outlets, emit sound or use a paper tape
  • In addition, the usage of hardware devices such as stylus that is compatible with a calculator is not permitted. Certain models that have touchscreen capabilities are not permitted (e.g., Casio ClassPad).
